Faster, safer travel for freight carriers and commuters
CPB Contractors, with its T2T Alliance partners, worked with the South Australian and Australian governments to design and construct major works for Adelaide’s Torrens Road to River Torrens project.
The Torrens Road to River Torrens project is a key link in Adelaide’s program for upgrading the north‐south corridor and transport network.
At its peak, the design and construction of the project provided employment for approximately 500 people.
The project included:
- Construction of a 3km section of non‐stop road between Torrens Road in Ridleyton and Ashwin Parade in Torrensville; and
- A 2km section of lowered motorway set approximately eight metres below the existing surface of South Road, providing three lanes in each direction.
The project opened to traffic at the end of 2018.
As part of the T2T Alliance consortium, CPB Contractors undertook works in joint venture with South Australian company York Civil. Under the Alliance, the CPB York JV (LYJV) worked with design partner Aurecon Australia.
The Torrens Road to River Torrens Project haa total value of approximately $896 million and was jointly funded by the South Australian and Australian governments.
The T2T Alliance was awarded the major works portion of this project.
