CPB Contractors recently expanded its school holiday program to support working parents and carers in Queensland following successful pilots in other locations.
Under the guidance of e2 Young Engineers Australia, 26 eager children dove into the world of STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—through hands-on activities.
Called “Be a builder for the day”, the program gave young guests a chance to construct Lego creations like conveyor belts, plough machines and cranes. After building their models, they learned how to program the creations to move, blending creativity with technical skills.
According to working dad Matt Papworth, the program was a highlight for both CPB Contractors team members and their young ones.
“I loved seeing my son get excited about travelling into work and going to the ‘big office’. There are so many great things about STEM, and this program showcased them in such a fun way. He was able to make new friends and quickly joined into the activities. The environment was aimed at having fun while learning, and I heard all about the building and coding activities throughout the day. It was also great to see some of the finished products when picking him up.”
This program builds upon CPB Contractors' ongoing commitment to providing its people with opportunities to thrive and is one way that team members are supported and empowered to be well at work and in life through rewards, benefits and opportunities.
