CPB’s delivery of the Mater Private Hospital Stage 1 redevelopment in Townsville has taken top honours in the Health Facilities over $20 million category of the Master Builders (North Queensland) Awards.
The project – completed in September 2020 – included construction of a new four-storey clinical building with operating theatres, recovery bays, expanded X-Ray facilities, a new main hospital entrance, and a refurbishment of the existing Lothair building.
Congratulations to our Townsville team on the win that highlighted construction challenges at an operational hospital, CPB’s innovation and workmanship in delivery, and the ability to pivot construction and resources during a flood and pandemic.
The win is yet another nod to CPB’s superior work in Queensland, the fifth accolade for our projects or people across the state this year.
CPB’s experience in the health sector includes major projects in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
Other recent work in the sector includes the redevelopment, expansion and construction of hospitals in Christchurch, New Zealand; ANGAU, Papua New Guinea; and the Northern Beaches, Campbelltown, Nepean and Coffs Harbour hospitals in New South Wales.
